My new rocking chair
Clara learned how to rock quickly, but she still needs help getting in and out of the chair. She often wants out of the chair only to holler when her feet hit the floor because she wants to rock longer. Sometimes we spend half an hour going in and out before I get tired of it.
Clara's 1st Birthday party
Clara had a Rabbit cake that was decorated by Grandma Nancy for her 1st birthday party. Clara wasn't feeling well so she was actually at the doctor's office when the party started. Maria, who's 3, was very concerned that Clara wasn't at her own party. Once Clara was back from the doctor's office with a diagnosis of getting another tooth, Maria asked her if the doctors made her tooth feel better. I told Maria that they didn't make it feel better, so Maria told me, "You should fire your doctor and find one that will make it better!"
It took Clara a good 10 minutes to take her first bite of cake, and didn't make the incredible mess that we thought she would because she wasn't feeling well.
"Do I have to eat more?"
We found out on Clara's actual birthday that she had Hand-Foot-n-Mouth disease so she had blisters in the back of her throat that we didn't see for 3 days. OUCH!
Clara wouldn't share her Hamily bear that Jim brought her from London.
"No! Beary is mine!"
Grandpa Keith's Farm Sale
Clara loved picking up rocks, playing in the dirt, and running between the equipment at Grandpa's farm sale.

Catch up pictures
Super Star Clara got to borrow cousin Maria's sunglasses while Erin and Chad babysat so we could go out with friends. We came back to find pictures of the two little ones playing in the tub, tackling Chad, and Clara was fast asleep in the crib.
Great Grandma Andrews is sharing her newspaper with Clara on our visit in early October. The first night we were there Clara was screaming when we sat down to eat supper. She wouldn't take a bottle and didn't want to play, she just kept screaming. Finally, great grandma said, "Well she's mad. She wants real food". We got some oatmeal out and fed Clara while we ate and when she was done eating she let out a sigh of relief. The 2nd morning Great Grandma read the paper to Clara. The 2nd afternoon Great Grandma taught Clara how to crawl by putting a plastic bag on the floor. Thank goodness my parents took me to visit someone who knows how to teach a baby to grow up!

Clara loves to take her toys with her wherever she goes.

1st Halloween. Clara was a little ladybug that visited all our neighbors on our street.
Clara's 1st time swimming with Jim and I. She loves the water! I suppose it helps that it is 90 degrees. She is sooo fast that even with us holding her she keeps trying to dunk her head underwater and comes up sputtering and laughing. Then she dunks her head under again.
